Rick Steele SF Fin
Rick Steele joined the Investment Manager in May 2001 as CEO. Mr Steele has a broad range of practical experience in funds management and government over a period of more than thirty years.
At BT Funds Management Limited, Mr Steele was responsible for the day to day operations of the Institutional Asset Management business.
Prior to this role, Mr Steele was a portfolio manager at BT Funds Management Limited as well as at Morgan Grenfell and Prudential Assurance where he specialised in the management of fixed income and foreign exchange. Mr Steele entered the financial markets as the Chief Economist at Prudential Assurance after a successful career in the Australian Treasury.
Mr Steele holds a Bachelor of Economics with Honours from the University of Tasmania, a Master of Economics from the Australian National University and is a Senior Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
Ashley Young CFA
Ashley Young joined the Investment Manager in March 1999 and is the Portfolio Manager.
Prior to joining Techinvest, Mr Young was an equity derivatives dealer with ANZ Securities Limited. He was responsible for the over-the-counter options portfolio, a member of the ANZ equity warrants team and contributed to the establishment of the equity derivatives clearing operation, ANZ Mees Pierson clearing Services.
Previously, Mr Young was a Portfolio Manager responsible for quantitative analysis, performance reporting, specialist equity portfolios and equity dealing with BT Funds Management Limited.
Mr Young holds a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in Economics from the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand and a Master of Applied Statistics from Macquarie University. Mr Young is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder.
Paul Davis CFA
Paul Davis founded TechInvest in September 1998 and is Head of Research.
From March 1996 to August 1998 Mr Davis was Managing Director and CEO of Nova Pacific Capital Limited, a listed technology investment company. At Nova Pacific Capital Limited, Mr Davis was responsible for creating several new technology businesses including E*TRADE Australia Limited.
Prior to joining Nova Pacific Capital Limited, Mr Davis was a Vice President and Portfolio Manager with BT Funds Management Limited, where he was responsible for the technology component of BT Funds Management Limited's wholesale funds. Mr Davis was also a founding Director of connect.com.au Pty Limited, an Australian Internet service provider.
Mr Davis is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Mechanical Engineering) from Stanford University in California, USA and a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from Otago University in Dunedin, New Zealand and has served on the faculties of Bond University and the University of Melbourne in Australia.
Anshu Sharma
Anshu Sharma joined the Investment Manager in October 2008 as an Investment Analyst.
Prior to this role, Mr Sharma worked at DVA Capital Limited, where he was responsible for conducting fundamental equity analysis and for providing analytical support to the investment management team. He has experience in both the Indian and Australian financial services industries.
Mr Sharma holds a Master of Commerce in Finance from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Commerce from Delhi University, India. He is currently studying for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
